About Glossy Game
GlossyGame.com started in 2007 with a blogspot address (check out vintage GG here) and a great idea. As a teenager, there wasn’t much for me to read. And what was around just wasn’t that exciting. Sure, I paged through Seventeen, Teen, Right On! and a few other obscure magazines, but nothing spoke to me. Or other girls who wanted to be cute, wanted to be fly, and most importantly, wanted to feel like a part of a smart, dope, collective something.
So Glossy Game was born. It’s 2011, and no other girls should have the problem I had with finding something cool to read. Glossy Game talks about the clothes YOU love, the beauty tips that’ll help YOU get a few extra minutes of snooze and–of course!–the celebs YOU love. Plus, gives YOU a jolt of energy and confidence that lasts all day. You’ll find teen beauty tips, celebrity gossip, fly teen fashion and info about important female icons on the site.
Enjoy the site, Dolls!!
xoxo!
A Note to Parents
No worries. I know you want to know what the heck your kids are reading on their computers and phones. It’s cool. I get it. GlossyGame.com’s biggest goals are:
- To boost the confidence of tween and teen girls living in urban areas;
- To empower girls through telling the stories of ethnic female trailblazers and activists, and;
- To stimulate reading comprehension with compelling writing and appropriate book suggestions.
I hope that’s something you can get with, because I’m pretty gung ho about. Hope your girls love the site, and that you enjoy it, too.
Other Details
I’m a freelance writer. Though it’s not my goal to make gazillions of dollars off of the girls that read this site, I do earn a little bit of money here. Just know that there are some ads and affiliate links on this site.
Privacy is pretty serious around here, so if your daughter is 13 or older, and shares her email address, it’ll only be used for the Glossy Game newsletter or for contest entries. You can read more about Glossy Game’s privacy policy here.
